Juniors Stun Progressive

Monday, August 19, 2013 - The lone men's game which opened the 2013 Co-operators General Insurance volleyball knockout season saw the Barbados Juniors stunning former monarchs Progressive in four sets on Monday night at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.

Led by the powerful attacking plays of Jabarry Goodridge, Ammuniki Wood and Carlos Cyrus, the Juniors out spiked and out blocked Progressive to take the match, 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-17.

The three women's games played to form with defending champions, Brydens Rockets getting over RBC Carlton, 25-13, 11-25, 25-21, 25-23.  Last year's losing finalists Chargers thumped Club United, 25-10, 25-17, 25-12.  Warrens handed a straight sets defeat to Toners taking their game, 25-10, 25-15, 25-23.
