Monday, September 2, 2013 - League kings Chargers won the clash of the unbeaten teams when the Goddard Enterprises Limited senior volleyball knockouts continued last night at the Wildey Gym.
With key man Jabarry Goodridge leaving the island on Sunday for a US volleyball scholarship, the Juniors lost their first game of the season going down to Chargers in straight sets, 16-25, 17-25, 21-25. Juniors have however qualified for the semifinals with a 4/1 record.
Chargers have also qualified with a game in hand while holding a 4/0 record. The two winless men’s teams set up a record score as Cawmere came from a set down to defeat Foundation United,34-36, 15-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-12.
There was no such drama in the women’s competition with league queens Warrens pushing to 4/0 while dropping RBC Carlton to 0/4, 25-11, 25-23, 25-17. Defending champions, Brydens Rockets beat Toners 25- 24, 25-22 and 25-21.
