Foundation United Shocks Deacons

Gymnasium, Wildey, St Michael - 2017-11-01: Foundation United shocked Deacons in straight sets as the Goddard Enterprises Limited division one league continued at the Wildey Gymnasium on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Foundation United defeated losing knockout finalists Deacons in straight sets 25-17, 25-23, 29-27.  The United States based Jabarry Goodridge who returned to the island for the funeral of schoolmate, clubmate and Barbados teammate Shamar Bishop piloted Foundation to their first win in eight games.

Former kings Progressive had slowed Cawmere’s progress last week by handing them their first league loss, Progressive cleared the path by beating the defending champions Chargers 21-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-23.  Chargers cannot repeat as double crown champions having retained their seventh knockout tile last week.

Chargers women ended their season by cooling Frozen Minis Club United 25-21, 25-15, 25-23 and Toners dismissed Deacons 27-25, 17-25, 28-26, 25-15. Matches continue on Sunday 5th November 2017 with three matches at the Oldbury Complex, St Philip.
