Community College boys KO champions

Monday February 10, 2025 – Barbados Community College are the new boys’ knockout champions of the National Sports Council’s Schools’ volleyball.

When the finals were played at the Wildey Gymnasium BCC boys upstaged the defending champions the Christ Church Foundation School 25-23, 25-21.

The BCC lads played a remarkable game of defence and impressive attack to dismiss the Beacons who lacked confidence and consistency. MVP Rashawn Batson along with Jayden Mascoll and junior Barbados player Justin Alleyne totally outplayed Foundation.

Harrison College double crown queens

Monday February 10, 2025 – Harrison College are the double crown queens of the National Sports Council’s Schools’ volleyball.

When the finals were played at the Wildey Gymnasium Harrison College dethroned Barbados Community College’s girls 25-16, 25-21.

The BCC girls could not contend with the attacking fury of CAZOVA all-star Destiny Layne who added the knockout MVP trophy to her league MVP title. Junior Barbados player Amanda Daniel provided some counter for BCC but HC played a superior game to overcome every challenge to clinch the game and crown.

Community College and Foundation School to defend titles

Wednesday, February 5, 2025—The Barbados Community College girls and Christ Church Foundation boys will aim to defend their National Sports Council’s under-19 volleyball knockout crowns when the finals are staged on Monday, February 10.

The defending champions made contrasting trips to the finals when the semifinals were staged at the Wildey Gymnasium. BCC surprisingly dropped the first set to the St. Michael School before winning the match 19-25, 25-12, 15-11. Foundation defeated former champions Combermere in straight sets 25-22, 25-21.

BCC girls will face the knockout queens Harrison College after College overcame an unexpected threat from Foundation girls 25-23, 23-25, 15-13. The BCC lads joined their girls in the finals by overcoming HC 25-18, 25-17.
