Deacons Men Continue Their Dominance

Thursday, March 20, 2025 – The defending champions, KFC Deacons, showed no signs of relinquishing their grip on the Division One volleyball crown as they cruised to another emphatic victory at the Wildey Gymnasium.

With only three rounds remaining in the season, the race for the championship has tightened into a two-horse contest, and Deacons made their intentions crystal clear with a commanding 25-11, 25-12, 25-17 win over Cawmere.

Meanwhile, the Ifill School Police, newcomers to division one volleyball, won a thrilling five-set victory against Barbados Bearing Progressive. With scores of 28-26, 26-28, 19-25, 25-15, and 15-11, the Police fought valiantly to edge their opponents. After surrendering the third set, they rallied back with a dominant fourth set and sealed the match with poise in the decider, proving their mettle against the seasoned Progressive team.

Foundation Takes Charge

Tuesday, March 18, 2025 – WOW Foundation continued their impressive campaign for the Division One volleyball title at the Wildey Gymnasium. In a dominant performance, Foundation defeated former champions Barbados Bearings Progressive in straight sets, 25-20, 25-14, 25-17, solidifying their position as top contenders.

Meanwhile, Starz maintained their grip on the third-place spot in the league standings, albeit in less dramatic fashion. They were awarded a default win against Cawmere, who were unable to field a complete team.

Foundation United and Starz Volleyball Club Shine

Wednesday, February 26, 2025 — The Wildey Gymnasium was electrified with excitement as the Barbados Volleyball Association’s (BVA) league continued with a night of impressive straight-sets victories, headlined by Foundation United.

In the first clash of the evening, Foundation United showcased their dominance with a commanding performance against Cawmere. The match, which ended in a decisive 25-14, 25-19, 25-13 victory, highlighted Foundation’s strategic gameplay and cohesive teamwork.

Meanwhile, in the other men’s game, Starz Volleyball Club delivered an impressive performance by derailing former giants, Barbados Bearings Progressive. The match saw Starz clinching the win with scores of 25-22, 25-18, and 25-19.

Ifill School Police Upset Chargers

Monday February 10, 2025 – In a stunning display of skill and teamwork, Ifill School Police delivered a major upset against former kings Chargers in the Barbados Volleyball Association division one league. The trio of Batson, Alleyne, and Mascoll led their team to an impressive victory, winning in straight sets 25-23, 25-22, 25-21.

In another men’s game played on the same day, Starz dominated Cawmere, winning in straight sets 25-18, 25-16, 25-21. Starz’s performance was marked by their aggressive attacking and solid defense, leaving Cawmere with little room to maneuver.

Deacon’s men unbeaten

Tuesday, October 24 – Defending men’s champion Deacons continued their unbeaten run when the Goddard Enterprises Limited division one volleyball action continued at Oldbury, St. Philip.

Deacons dismissed Cawmere 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 to move to the top of the table.

Progressive defeated CO Williams Foundation United 25-21, 25-23, 19-25, 25-19. The slimly built Akeil Stoute and Yvan Grant made easy work of Foundation’s net and ground defence.

Chargers breeze past Progressive

Sunday, October 22 – Chargers men breeze past Progressive when the Goddard Enterprises Limited division one volleyball action continued at the Wildey Gymnasium.

Chargers defeated Progressive 25-18, 25-21, 25-15 with Chad Griffith and Jonathan Alleyne leading the charge. Cawmere showed resilience coming from two sets down to dim All Starz 19-25, 23-25, 26-24, 25-19, 15-12.
