Rain Disrupts Matches

The Goddard Enterprises Limited junior volleyball knockout action was disrupted by the rain on Thursday July 14, 2022 with just two games being completed.

The normally big clash between home team Chargers and Deacons women proved to be one sided with Chargers taking the Hill Road encounter 25-13, 25-23. The intended battle between Chargers men and Hill Road who are also based at Hill Road was washed out.

The Deacons squad hardly looked its usual challenging unit as Chargers enjoyed the luxury of leaving United States scholarship setter Dashonta Addison on the bench for most of the match as Dayna Babb filled the role of running the attack.

Sanya Jones and Latifah Wood of Chargers proved potent in attack with Wood and Tricia Phillips being dominant in net defence. The dependable Marissa Dowell and Serena Edward gave Deacons some hope in the second set before folding to the straight sets loss.

Down Free Hill the visiting side Hill Road women took three sets to stop The Club 17-25, 25-21, 15-5. The weather then prevented the match between Advent men and Club from being played. Both games slated for Bagatelle in St. Thomas were washed out.
