UWI Men leads Group

UWI Blackbirds men outplayed Foundation United 25-22, 25-21 to maintain the lead in the group when the Goddard Enterprises Limited Junior Volleyball knockouts continued on Tuesday at the UWI, Cave Hill.

Wow Foundation women battled from a set down to edge home team UWI Blackbirds 14-25, 25-15, 15-8.

Hill Road defeated Development Volleyball in Motion (DVM) 28-26, 25-22 when veteran Dale Addison took charge of the game touching every ball entering Hill Road’s court for his team to remarkably fight back from a 16-19 defecit to surge to set point, 24-19. A slew of errors from DVM offset some great fight back efforts which saw that set and the next going beyond the distance.

The Ifill School Police women are unlikely to advance to the knockout stage after being defeated by DVM women 25-7, 25-18.

Mixed Fortunes for Clubs

Phoenix Security Carlton ensured that Hill Road suffered mixed fortunes when the Goddard Enterprises Limited junior volleyball knockouts continued on Sunday at the UWI, Cave Hill court.

With Tiara Johnson, Nerissa Dyer, Kianna White and setter Katelynn Clarke leading the way Carlton defeated Hill Road boasting veterans Anthazia Mason and Sharon Bovell 25-15, 24-26, 15-8. Kimisha Marshall fought valiantly to stop Carlton from scoring their third win in five matches.

Hill Road men saved the team some pride by stopping Club United 25-14, 29-27. Chargers’ men were defeated by the home side, UWI 16-25, 26-24, 26-24.

Wow Foundation also experienced mixed fortunes in their home court battles at Church Hill. The men edged Advent Ballers 22-25, 25-18, 15-7 after the women folded to Development Volleyball in Motion 14-25, 17-25.

The Bagatelle home court offered no favours to Ifill School Police. Their women were trounced by Chargers 25-9, 25-21 while the Policemen slipped against Deacons 18-25, 25-16, 4-15. Deacons’ women were defeated by Club United 25-18, 23-25, 10-15.

Police arrest Deacons

Ifill School Police Sports Club kept in contention for a ticket out of men’s division three when the Goddard Enterprises Limited volleyball league continued on Saturday.

With former Barbados 6’ 4” player Romel Agard leading the charge, Police stopped Deacons at Carlton 25-18, 25-13.

The home team Phoenix Security Services Carlton then scored back to back victories at the expense of Wow Foundation’s division two and three women’s teams. The division three women beat Foundation 25-10, 25-12. Division two Carlton were tested a bit more but still stopped Foundation in straight sets 25-21, 21-19.
