Tuesday, April 21, 2025 – Senior indoor national player Destiny Lane and Gabrielle Sandiford will represent Team Barbados at the NORCECA Under-18 World Championship Qualifier in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic, from April 23rd – 27th.

Layne who attends Harrison College will be in great synch with Sandiford, a student of the Christ Church Foundation School as they both represent Foundation United’s division one team. Sandiford is a member of Barbados’ under 17 indoor squad.

Sandiford will makes her debut as a national beach volleyball player alongside Layne, who gained valuable experience competing on the junior and senior beach tours. This will be the pair’s first tournament together.

The NORCECA under 18 Women’s Tournament serves as a qualifier for the 2026 under 18 World Championship in the Netherlands from July 8th-12th, 2026. A maximum of 12 teams from across the NORCECA circuit will compete for the top five qualifying spots.

Teams finishing 6-12 will remain eligible, in order of priority, should any National Federation be unable to attend or withdraw from the World Championship.
