- UWI Strike Twice at Bay Street

Sunday, April 26, 2026 – UWI made a successful double strike when a lower division volleyball triple header was staged at Bay Street on Sunday night.
With Barbados women’s setter Carah Watson piloting the way, UWI flew past Spikenards 25-21, 25-17 in the men’s division three action. Watson’s setting and her serving destroyed the inconsistent Spikenards.
UWI then overpowered the Police division two women 21-11, 21-19. Earlier, Hill Road proved too steep for Foundation Legacy, dismissing the inexperienced players 21-8, 21-17.
The home teams at Free Hill won one of the three fixtures at their court. Club United division three women out-fought the Gladiators 25-13, 18-25, 15-9. However, Free Hill toppled to Apex division three women 22-25, 21-25 and Deacons division three men blocked Free Hill 25-20, 25-22.
The lone game at Hill Road saw Chargers division two women coming from a set down to edge Blazers 29-31, 25-10, 15-12.
- DVM Lost at Home
Thursday, April 23, 2026 – Development Volleyball in Motion (DVM) was the only team which failed to capitalize on playing at home when lower division volleyball continued yesterday.
Division three DVM men started well against the Police at Husbands but in the end lost the close game 25-22, 14-25, 16-14. Division two women Blazers continued their winning form, dismissing the Police 26-24, 25-15.
Across at Free Hill, the home clash between Free Hill and Club United saw Club taking the match 25-21, 28-26. Division three UWI edged the BDF 25-13, 22-25, 15-10.
Up Parish Land, Christ Church Foundation United won both division two matches. Foundation stopped Chargers 25-22, 25-22. Awesome hitting by Nathan Crawford-Wallis then nullified the effort from former Barbados setter Dale Addison and attacker Jamar Thompson for Foundation to deny Hill Road 25-19, 25-21, 25-19.
- Under 18 Boys heading to World Beach Qualifier
Tuesday, April 21, 2025 – Cael Greenidge and Joshua Ashby will represent Team Barbados at the NORCECA Under-18 World Championship Qualifier in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic, from April 23rd – 27th.
Combermere student Ashby was a member of the Barbados under 17 team which won the CAZOVA championship in Jamaica last year. He and that winning team then took part in the NORCECA final in Nicaragua. Greenidge has been a standout player for the Deighton Griffith School and he plays for Carlton in lower division.
Ashby and Greenidge previously competed on the regional beach circuit at the CAZOVA Under-18 Championships in different years with Cael making his debut in 2024 and Joshua in 2025. Having also partnered in several local tournaments, the duo will make their first appearance together at the national level.
The NORCECA under 18 Men’s Tournament serves as a qualifier for the 2026 under 18 World Championship in the Netherlands from July 8th-12th, 2026. A maximum of 12 teams from across the NORCECA circuit will compete for the top five qualifying spots.
Teams finishing 6-12 will remain eligible, in order of priority, should any National Federation be unable to attend or withdraw from the World Championship.
- Under 18 Girls heading to World Beach Qualifier
Tuesday, April 21, 2025 – Senior indoor national player Destiny Lane and Gabrielle Sandiford will represent Team Barbados at the NORCECA Under-18 World Championship Qualifier in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic, from April 23rd – 27th.
Layne who attends Harrison College will be in great synch with Sandiford, a student of the Christ Church Foundation School as they both represent Foundation United’s division one team. Sandiford is a member of Barbados’ under 17 indoor squad.
Sandiford will makes her debut as a national beach volleyball player alongside Layne, who gained valuable experience competing on the junior and senior beach tours. This will be the pair’s first tournament together.
