Deacons Men Rally to Overcome Shock Set Loss

Monday, March 10, 2025 – In an electrifying volleyball clash at the Wildey Gymnasium, defending men’s champions Deacons faced an unexpected challenge from Ifill School Police. The match began with a shocking first-set loss for Deacons, as Ifill School Police clinched the set 25-23. However, Deacons quickly regrouped, showcasing their championship pedigree by taking the next three sets convincingly with scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-18.

In another matchup, Chargers wasted no time in asserting their dominance over Club United. The Chargers delivered a commanding performance, securing a straight-sets victory with scores of 25-22, 25-19, and an impressive 25-8 in the final set.

Foundation men upset Chargers

Tuesday February 18, 2025 – CO Williams Foundation United overcame a 1-2 deficit to upset Chargers when the Barbados Volleyball Association division one league continued at the Wildey Gymnasium.

Rallying behind remarkable attacks by Jaden Batson, and the Durant brothers, Nicholas and Dominic Foundation edged out the former champions 24-26, 25-17, 24-26, 25-18, 16-14.

The newly promoted Ifill School Police maintained a miserable season for former giants Progressive dismissing them 25-9, 25-19, 25-22. While defending champions KFC Deacons stomped Cawmere 25-19, 25-13, 25-10.

Starz Volleyball Club denied Club United 25-15, 25-23, 16-25, 25-19.

Contrasting Fortunes for Wow Foundation and Club United

Sunday February 9, 2025 – Newly promoted Wow Foundation United women and Club United experienced opposite results when the Barbados Volleyball Association’s division one league was continued at the Wildey Gymnasium.

While Club was dismissed by men’s defending champions KFC Deacons 14-25, 15-25, 21-25, Foundation knocked down Hill Road 25-14, 25-16, 25-13. Hill Road could not contend with the fury and fire of CAZOVA all star Destiny Layne and her Harrison College teammate Talia Sandiford.

In the other women’s match, Chargers demonstrated their prowess by stopping Phoenix Security Services Carlton in straight sets, with scores of 25-18, 25-18, and 25-15.

Development in Motion, winning

Monday, October 30 – Development Volleyball in Motion continued their fantastic 2023 season when the Goddard Enterprises Limited division one volleyball action continued at Oldbury, St. Philip.

DVM defeated Warrens 25-19, 21-25, 25-19, 25-12 to not only move to second in the standings with 19 points but four victories in one round is unprecedented for the relatively new club since moving to division one five years ago.

Knockout queens UWI Blackbirds continued on their path towards double crown honours as they crushed Club United 25-16, 25-7, 26-24.

Straight sets wins

Monday, October 23 – It was straight sets wins when the four bottom-placed teams took to the court at Oldbury, St. Philip last night in the Goddard Enterprises Limited division one volleyball league.

Hill Road proved too steep for Development Volleyball in Motion stalling their challenging efforts 27-25, 25-19, 28-26. Then Phoenix Security Services Carlton toyed with and defeated Club United 25-22, 25-19, 25-23.

Three with easy victories

Sunday, October 22 – Warrens, Deacons, and Chargers also picked up relatively easy victories and points when the Goddard Enterprises Limited division one volleyball action continued at the Wildey Gymnasium.

Deacons beat Hill Road 25-14, 25-21, 20-25, 25-20. Warrens stopped Phoenix Security Services Carlton 25-21, 25-14, 12-25, 25-22. Chargers whipped Club United in straight sets 25-21, 25-20 25-12.
